May 1957 The Kanda Works was established in Joshin, Nishi Ward, Nagoya City to manufacture and sell special belts for continuously variable transmission.
Resin belts processed out of Kuraray Povalon sheets were manufactured and sold.
December 1961 Moved to Noda Town, Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City, the location of the current head office.
November 1964 Was reorganized as a joint-stock corporation, and the business name was changed to POVAL KOGYO CO., LTD.
January 1970 Started manufacturing and selling comber aprons and condenser tape (belts for spinning)
January 1974 Started manufacturing and selling polishing pads for cathode-ray tube glass.
August 1977 Established the Tokyo Sales Office as a sales base for the Kanto region and areas and eastern Japan.
January 1981 Established the Osaka Sales Office as a sales base for the Kansai region and areas and western Japan.
February 1986 Started manufacturing and selling urethane foam.
October 1987 Established the Sapporo Sales Office as a sales base for Hokkaido.
April 1990 Established POVAL SALES CO., LTD., to strengthen the sales force.
April 1992 Established the Daian Factory to boost production capacity.
February 1993 Established the Kyushu Branch as a sales office for Kyushu.
May 1997 Established POBAL TECHNO FAR EAST PTE. LTD. to strengthen the sales force in Singapore.
Established a factory on Syed Alwi Road as a production site for POBAL TECHNO FAR EAST PTE. LTD.
March 1998 Started manufacturing the Company's own non-woven fabric.
December 1998 Established the Tohoku Branch (later the Tohoku Sales Office) as a sales base for the Tohoku region.
November 1999 Relocated the Shizuoka Sales Office.
February 2000 Established the Osaka Minami Sales Office as a sales contact for markets outside Japan.
September 2000 Established the Chiba Office as a sales base for Chiba Prefecture and surrounding areas.
September 2001 Established the Hyogo Office as a sales base for Hyogo Prefecture and the surrounding area.
November 2001 Established POVAL KOBASHI (THAILAND) CO., LTD., (now a consolidated subsidiary) as a production and sales base in Thailand.
Established the Thailand Factory as a production base for POVAL KOBASHI (THAILAND) CO., LTD.
March 2002 Merged the Hyogo Office into the Osaka Sales Office to streamline management.
Merged the Osaka Minami Sales Office into the Osaka Sales Office to streamline management.
September 2002 Merged the Chiba Office into the Tokyo Sales Office to streamline management.
August 2003 Merged the Sapporo Sales Office into the Tokyo Sales Office to streamline management.
August 2004 Established the Bangkok Office as a sales base for POVAL KOBASHI (THAILAND) CO., LTD.
September 2005 Merged the Tohoku Sales Office into the Tokyo Sales Office to streamline management.
April 2006 Established POBAL DEVICE KOREA CO., LTD., (now a consolidated subsidiary) to expand business in South Korea.
September 2006 Established the Osaka Overseas Sales Office (later the Overseas Sales Department) as a sales contact for markets outside Japan.
August 2007 Wound up POBAL TECHNO FAR EAST PTE. LTD. to streamline management.
Absorbed POVAL HANBAI CO., LTD., to streamline management.
September 2007 Moved the Thailand Factory to the Pinthong Industrial Estate in Chonburi Province.
December 2010 Moved the Fukuoka Sales Office to its current location (Imanosho, Koga City, Fukuoka Prefecture).
September 2011 Established POVAL KUSHAN CO., LTD., (now a consolidated subsidiary) to expand business in China.
Established the China Factory as a production site for POVAL KUSHAN CO., LTD.
January 2013 Merged the Overseas Sales Department into the Tokyo Sales Office to streamline management.
June 2014 Listed on the Second Section of the Nagoya Stock Exchange.
October 2016 POVAL KOGYO CO., LTD. acquired 100% ownership of NISSHIN MFG CO.,LTD.
March 2017 Merged the Shizuoka Sales Office into the Tokyo and Nagoya Sales Office to streamline management.
July 2017 POVAL KOGYO CO., LTD.. acquired 100% ownership of YUNIKAH KOGYO CO., LTD.
August 2017 Moved the Tokyo Sales Office to its current location (Iwamoto-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).
April 2018 Moved the Osaka Sales Office to its current location (Ichiokamotomachi, Minato-ku, Osaka-city, Osaka).
